DML -On-Demand, your property-viewings-tour-solutions has launched on March the 16th this year.
The company aim is to make the property rental's search process easier and fairer for people living around the Greater London Area.
Here are some basic statistics from the last Mayor of London's housing covenant dedicated for making the private rented sector work for londoners endorsed by DML.
1- The private rented sector, in London is the common housing option for young people. This include those coming to the city in search of work and increasingly for young families (non owner occupant) accounting for 20% of the total intake within the private rented sector.
2- To date, the private rented sector (PRS) is home to 1/4 of all londoners, and based on current projection, it will house 1/3 within a decade and a half (2025).
3- Considering that London population which was standing at 8.1millions in 2012 and increase every year; DML is looking forward to help everyone find a new home quickly when require.
4- Over 80% of (PRS) supply is existing stock, and the same stock had also accounted for 2/3+ of new homes supply in 2009-2010.
5- The (PRS) had year after year registered over 2/3 of recent moves, making it by far the most mobile housing tenure.
6- When compared with the UK as a whole, the type of household living in London's (PRS) is dominated by adults sharing, including a smaller than average proportion made of (single person household, couples and lone parents).
7- Around 2/5 of London's private renters are from black and minority ethnic groups (BME) far more than the UK average.
8- (9%) of renters are students or those who are moving into employment after university. Therefore the tenure plays a crucial role in housing people in professional and technical occupations (29.3% approximately).
9- Ultimately, 68% of London's private renters are economically active and working or
in full-time study.
10- Private renters are also far more mobile than social tenants or homeowners. In London, 34% of private tenants have lived in their home for less than one year; compared with 3% of owner occupiers and 7% of social renters.
